GOVERNOR’S VOLUNTEER AWARD                                                              2012

Founder and President of Rasika – Raman Srinivasan was honored with Governor’s Volunteer Award for his contribution to the local community for past seasons of outreach and programming efforts.

The 2012 Oregon Governor’s Volunteer Awards honors some of Oregon’s most respected individuals and organizations for their commitment to voluntary service benefiting the state and its people. The awards are hosted by the Oregon Volunteers Commission for Voluntary Action and Service with presenting sponsor Wells Fargo. At the 2012 Oregon Governor’s Volunteer Awards Luncheon the Founder and President volunteer of RASIKA, Raman Srinivasan was recognized as the Outstanding Regional Adult Volunteer. RASIKA received $500 as cash award from Wells Fargo.

The organization received Kennedy Award from local violin makers.

INTEL VOLUNTEER HERO AWARD                                                                  2009

Intel recognized Raman’s efforts by selecting him as one of the top five ‘Volunteer Heroes’ in Oregon, the only one in the Arts and Humanities services among the employees nominated for voluntary efforts in Oregon.

SOUTH INDIA FINE ARTS                                                                                   2004

Raman’s work to promote Indian arts has also been recognized nationally by an award presented by the South India Fine Arts (SIFA) non-profit Indian organization based in California

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS                                                  2003

Nominated for the ‘Coming up Taller’ Award. The Coming Up Taller Awards recognize exemplary arts and humanities programs, which foster young people’s intellectual and creative development. Rasika was nominated for their work presenting the annual Gurukulam children’s heritage camp.

ARTS IN THE COMMUNITY AWARD                                                              2003

Rasika received ‘Arts in the Community’ award from the Beaverton Arts Commission and City of Beaverton, presented by the Mayor of Beaverton for successful outreach and educational programing efforts.
